Claire Cole

Director

Dr Claire Cole has worked at MFT since 2017 and is Deputy Managing Director for Research and Innovation (Research) at MFT, and is the Director of the NIHR CRDC:GM.

Claire’s academic background is Cancer Pharmacology (PhD, Newcastle University) and Pharmacology (BSc, University of Liverpool).

As Director of our CRDC, she oversees operations helping our partner organisations to work together effectively to accelerate and deliver high-quality commercial research across Greater Manchester, tackling health inequalities and benefiting the diverse communities we serve. She also co-leads the CRDC UK Network Operational Services Theme, streamlining processes across all CRDCs to increase commercial research activity.

As well as her role with the CRDC she oversees the Operational Research Delivery workforce, Statistical Support Service, and Estates and Facilities team within Research and Innovation at MFT, supporting the annual delivery of more than 1,000 high-quality research studies, tackling health inequalities and driving improvements in healthcare for all.
