Monika Cien

Operational Lead

Monika Cien has worked at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust since 2012 and is the Operations Lead for the NIHR Commercial Research Delivery Centre: Greater Manchester and Research Operational Lead at MFT.

Monika’s background is in research operations and service delivery, with extensive experience leading large scale research programmes, workforce transformation and the delivery of commercial research.

As Operations Lead for CRDC:GM, Monika leads the operational development and delivery, working with partner organisations to create a coordinated, efficient and inclusive research ecosystem. She is responsible for implementing innovative delivery models that increase research capacity, accelerate study setup and recruitment, improve access to commercial research, and ensure research opportunities reach the diverse communities of Greater Manchester.

Monika works closely with CRDC:GM partners, CRDC:UK Network  and industry partners to strengthen Greater Manchester’s position as a leading destination for commercial clinical research, helping to bring cutting edge treatments and research opportunities to patients across the region.

Within MFT, Monika provides operational leadership across research delivery services, supporting delivery of research studies and driving improvements in research performance, workforce capability and operational excellence.
